✨ Why Choose This Voice to Text Tool?

Whether you're drafting a WhatsApp message in Hindi, writing a YouTube script in English, capturing lecture notes, or composing a blog post hands-free, this tool gives you a clean dictation workspace right in your browser. No account. No app to install. No audio uploaded to our servers. Just open the page, pick your language, and start speaking — your words appear in real time.

Unlike basic dictation widgets, this tool is built for creators and professionals. It supports undo by sentence, auto-save in your browser, case tools (Sentence case, Title Case, UPPER/lower), and dictation commands so you can add punctuation entirely hands-free. The Android duplicate-word bug is fixed, and the mic auto-restarts cleanly on desktop after browser-imposed pauses.

🌍 Languages & Accents

Select your language from the dropdown and begin speaking. For best accuracy, match the locale to your accent — use English (India) if you have an Indian accent rather than English (US).

🇮🇳 Hindi — हिन्दी 🇮🇳 Punjabi — ਪੰਜਾਬੀ 🇮🇳 Bengali — বাংলা 🇮🇳 Tamil — தமிழ் 🇮🇳 Telugu — తెలుగు 🇮🇳 Marathi — मराठी 🇮🇳 Gujarati — ગુજરાતી 🇮🇳 Urdu — اردو 🇮🇳 Kannada — ಕನ್ನಡ 🇮🇳 Malayalam — മലയാളം 🇺🇸 English (US) 🇮🇳 English (India)

🎯 Accuracy Tips

  • 🎤 Use a quiet room — background noise is the #1 cause of misrecognitions.
  • 🎧 A wired headset or USB mic outperforms a built-in laptop microphone.
  • 🗣️ Speak at a natural pace. Pause briefly between sentences for cleaner punctuation.
  • 🌐 Match the language setting to your accent.
  • 🔊 Raise your browser's mic volume in system settings if words cut off.
  • ↩️ Made a mistake? Click Undo to remove just the last sentence.

👩‍🎓 For Students & Teachers

Capture lectures, summaries, and assignments hands-free. Export to DOCX or PDF directly.

🎬 For Creators & Marketers

Draft scripts, hooks, and captions fast. The live word counter helps you hit exact lengths for Reels and Shorts.

💼 For Professionals

🌏 Regional Language Users

Compose posts and articles in Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, and more — in your own script, not transliteration.

🧠 Dictation Commands

Enable Dictation commands in Advanced Options, then speak these phrases:

comma → ,
full stop / period → .
question mark → ?
exclamation mark → !
new line → line break
new paragraph → blank line

⚙️ Shortcuts & Power Features

  • Ctrl / ⌘ + M — Start or stop recording from anywhere on the page.
  • ↩️ Undo — Remove the last finalised sentence without clearing everything.
  • Case tools — Sentence case, Title Case, UPPERCASE, lowercase.
  • Auto-save — Text is saved in your browser. Close and come back — it will still be there.

🔒 Privacy

When you speak, your browser — not this page — sends audio to its speech provider (e.g. Google for Chrome). OurNetHelps does not receive, store, or log your audio or transcribed text. Auto-save stores text only in your browser's local storage.

🧭 Troubleshooting

✅ Live dictation works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera (desktop & Android). Firefox and Safari do not support the Web Speech API mic input.
  • Start button does nothing? Allow microphone access in browser settings.
  • 🔁 Words repeating on Android? This version disables auto-restart on Android to prevent duplicates. Tap "Continue" when the mic pauses.
  • ⏱️ Desktop mic stops? Auto-restart handles it. Keep the tab visible.
  • 📄 DOCX or PDF does nothing? Wait 5 seconds after page load and retry.
  • 🎚️ Low accuracy? Match the language to your accent and move to a quieter location.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Which browsers support live voice dictation?

Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Opera on desktop and Android. Firefox and Safari do not support the Web Speech API. The editor and exports work in all browsers.

Is my audio uploaded to your server?

No. Audio is processed by your browser's own speech engine. OurNetHelps never receives or stores your audio or text.

Why does Chrome on Android repeat words?

Chrome Android doesn't truly support continuous recording — it always stops after a few seconds. Auto-restarting causes the last partial to be re-committed as duplicate text. This tool does not auto-restart on Android. Instead it shows a "Tap to Continue" button so you stay in control.

Can I dictate in Hindi or Tamil?

Yes. Select your language from the dropdown. Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Urdu, Kannada, and Malayalam are all supported.

Can I use this for YouTube captions?

Yes. Export as TXT and upload to YouTube Studio. Use DOCX or PDF for video scripts and show notes.

Does the tool work offline?

Speech recognition needs internet. The editor, formatting, and exports work offline once the page is cached.
